Job Openings
CDL Driver
Individual will be responsible for the delivery of building materials, millwork, and cabinets to various construction sites in southern NE. Candidates will be detail oriented and well organized able to operate a forklift. Must have at minimum Class B CDL license; class A license is even better.
Requirements:

Good driving record and current DOT medical card

Able to work in various weather conditions

Must be able to work overtime
Salary is negotiable depending on experience
Scheduled hours are Monday – Friday – no weekends.

Estimator
Douglas Lumber seeks an experienced Estimator to join our team.
​
The ideal candidate for this position will have 1-3 years of Estimating experience, be organized, and a self-starter. Strong interpersonal and communication skills a prerequisite. Must be able to communicate with both internal and external customers. The candidate must be well versed in the building materials industry, with an understanding of multiple type of building products, and how they are applicable to wood frame construction.

The Estimator will be tasked with producing cost based estimates on all projects, with the input of both the customer and Douglas’ team of inside and outside salespeople.
​
Experience in the following areas are ideal:

Blueprint reading (this is a must)
-
Knowledge of residential and light commercial construction
-
Have the ability to use Excel, Word, and Outlook Microsoft programs along with basic computer skills
-
Some experience with building material estimating software (AutoCAD or other) helpful
-
Facility and familiarity with manufacturers’ software such as Andersen IQ, Reeb 2G
-
Sales experience a plus

Inside Sales
Perform all functions of Retail sales, including the preparation of quotes, orders, invoices and special orders. Responsible for coordinating deliveries and material returns when necessary. Serve as a resource for the customer; help customers make selections by building consumer confidence using product knowledge and exemplary service.

greet and engage customers promptly; prioritize Customer Service above administrative tasks

process transactions accurately and timely from start to finish

follow-up on all leads in a timely and professional manner

answer incoming customer calls; respond to customer requests and questions

encourage interest in other service areas of the company and pass on leads to other departments

responsible for the immediate handling of customer concerns

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products sold, product usage, and new products on the market for all building materials, including millwork

responsible for the entire sales process from prospect through delivery and follow-up
-
utilize all available informational and point-of-sale software systems
-
completion of all paperwork accurately and timely
-
responsible for managing strategy and tactics to meet or exceed sales/growth goals
