DIY Painting a Chair

Do It Yourself!

Oxford Lumber took an old chair and made it look new this week!

We used Amy Howard at Home One Step paint. It's a great tool if you are taking an old piece of wooden furniture, or even if you're wanting to paint an antique piece!

Start by turning the can of Amy Howard One Step Paint over and leave the can for about 30 minutes to an hour.

It is really important to start with a clean item. Make sure the entire piece is clean of dust and dirt. Follow through with a damp towel and wait until your object is completely dry.

Once the paint has sat upside down for 30 minutes to an hour, shake the can to bring the pigment from the bottom of the can. Then open the can and stir with a paint stick.

Apply a light coat of the One Step Paint and allow to dry for 20-30 minutes.

Apply a second light coat if necessary for complete coverage.

The great thing about Amy Howard One Step Paint is that there is NO sealing necessary. It's exactly what it claims to be, ONE STEP! It's fantastic!

Beware that if you let the One Step Paint puddle up then it will result in a cracked finish.

We'd love to see what you have created with your Amy Howard at Home paint line! Please share with us on Facebook!
